Rubiee L., a 13-year-old student at Washington Virtual Academies (WAVA), has achieved a remarkable feat by releasing her debut novel, “The Ways of Wolves.” In an interview on Komo News, Rubiee shared her lifelong passion for writing, nurtured by the ample free time and natural surroundings of her island home. Inspired during the pandemic, her book follows a wolf pup named Blue Jay on his journey to fit in with his peers. Despite the surprise from others at her young accomplishment, Rubiee insists that passion makes the writing process easy. She encourages other young aspiring writers to pursue their dreams. Rubiee hosted a book signing at Salon Rise in Tacoma on May 17th.

Arkansas Virtual Academy Students Thank Lawmakers for Online Learning Option

Arkansas Virtual Academy students gathered today at the Blue and Red Event Center near the Capitol to express their gratitude to lawmakers for the option to learn online. During the event, students wrote letters of thanks and explained the benefits of virtual classes, such as flexible scheduling and personalized learning. Later in the afternoon, they delivered these letters to legislators at the Capitol. Since its establishment in 2003, Arkansas Virtual Academy has grown to serve over 4,000 students across all 75 counties in the state.
